One of the most common questions we get asked during a new client consultation is What Is Your Signature Style? Being from Wisconsin, I have experienced the extreme climate changes of our four seasons. I am used to finding peace and beauty in the outdoors, which inspires my love for interior design. Natural beauty is my comfort and main aesthetic. Letting nature seep into our interior spaces. Looking to natural objects for color palettes and texture. Such as bark from birch trees, silky smooth flower petals, glass like beauty of lakes and oceans, rippling water, and the organic shape of a leaf. We have the gift to see how these elements translate into interior design.
These elements can be introduced in homes in multiple ways such as Ledge stone on a fireplace surround or accent wall, a rustic wood beam above the stove or for accent shelving. Botanical wallpaper installed behind a master bedroom headboard or in a powder bathroom. It’s the simple beauty that we strive for in our designs.
Creating lived in, family friendly spaces is also a number one design principal here at Interiors By B. Appreciating perfection in all of nature’s imperfections. Designing a casual yet organized space creates a “Go with the flow” feeling and helps us appreciate how things naturally are. We believe that good design can greatly enhance daily life. There is something grounding about nature. Bringing this feeling into the home helps create a timeless space you can enjoy for decades. Check out these photo’s to see how we incorporated natural elements into the spaces.
This kitchen originally had a very small window that the client referred to as a drive up window. We partnered with local remodeling company RB Remodeling for this project and removed the “drive up window” and added a larger window with classic white beveled subway tile installed to the ceiling. Also pictured are white quartz countertops that imitate the natural look of marble. Now this family of four can enjoy the view of their beautiful back yard while making dinner or doing dishes.
This is another view of the kitchen pictured above. The detailed picture shows the rustic wood beam installed over the custom range area. The wood beam adds texture, warmth and character to this families home.
Pictured above is a families living room in Waunakee, WI. The homeowner shares our love for bright spaces with blue accents, so we added these custom chairs with a floral pattern and added some texture and warmth with the rustic wood side table
Last but definitely not least is the above bathroom remodel project. This is an old farmhouse that is full of character! We partnered with RB Remodeling on this project as well and completely remodeled this bathroom from floor to ceiling. RB Remodeling built beautiful custom barn-style cabinets out of rustic alder. We used Sherwin Williams Oyster Bay Paint for a soft and calming feel and added pebbles for an accent on the shower walls. Not pictured is the vanity that includes a soft white colored quartz countertop to brighten up the bathroom and keep the overall rustic/natural style.
